Blogging Challenge Reflection

I really enjoyed participating in this blogging challenge. This is my first time ever blogging before, and it is an experience I enjoy and would like to continue doing  in the future.  I have read and commented on other people’s blogs, and learned about their interests. I have also had posts commented on by other bloggers, and heard their opinions about my posts. All in all, this has been a very fun experience.

PEAK, What I Have Read So Far: Week Nine

In my  school’s book club, we are reading a book called Peak, and it is about a 14 year old boy who Climbs Mt.Everest. I have watched videos about Mt.Everest climbers, and it seems so dangerous. I wonder if it is actually not as scary as it looks. Also, I wonder how it feels to be in thin air like that. The highest I have ever been is Copper Mountain in Colorado, and I didn’t notice the air was any thinner there. I am very curious about how much it costs to get all of that supplies. I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of my money on climbing supplies, Because I would still have to pay for mountain guides. On the other hand, the more money you spend, the safer you will be. The Idea of getting a climbing guide scares me , Because getting a bad guide might be very bad. All in all, it sounds like a very dangerous thing to do, but I have never Climbed it, and maybe it is not like it seems.

Kuwait

At our school, we  do a research paper on a country in Asia. I chose to do my research on Kuwait. Kuwait is a country on the Persian gulf,  bordered by Iraq and Saudi Arabia. It is mostly made up of desert. Kuwait has very hot weather, and in the summer it can reach 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Kuwait has seven offshore islands, and if you are in to history, they are very interesting to visit. Kuwait has minimal plant and animal life because of its many deserts. Kuwait has fought many wars, including the very famous Gulf War, a war between Iraq and Kuwait. Kuwait is a very interesting country, and I hope you have learned a lot from this post.

My Celebrations (week 7)

Every year, our family celebrates many holidays, here are a few of them. Easter, Hanukkah Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and Purim. Our family celebrates Jewish and Christian holidays. Our next holiday we are going to celebrate is Easter. It is on April 21. On easter, we hide plastic eggs filled with candies. Then we hunt for these plastic eggs. It’s a very fun celebration. I hope you learned a lot about my celebrations from this post.

My School – Blog Challenge Week 5

I go to an independent school in Pennsylvania. Our school day is usually started off with a morning meeting, where we sit on our desks in a circle and talk about events in our life. We have many subjects in school, such as social studies, art, math, science, Spanish, language arts, and engineering and design. Engineering and design is where we get to build things out of wood cardboard, paper, nails, screws, drills, etc.  We have a snack break at 9:50 in the morning. We have lunch at 11:30 in the morning, and recess and quiet time follow after. After school, our school offers optional sports for fall, winter, and spring. Outside of our school, we have two different playgrounds, and three sports fields.  The picture is of our courtyard, where we sometimes have recess. I hope you have learned a lot about my school from this post.

How To Write a Quality Comment

Writing a good comment isn’t hard, but here are a few things that can make a comment really nice.

1. Complement the post you are commenting on, it is a great way to start a comment.

2.Ask a question about the post you are commenting on.

3. Don’t give a comment with only two words. You want to encourage conversation  with the person you are commenting to.

4.Don’t put too many exclamation points in your comment. One or two of them is enough.

Blogging Challenge Adventure

My blog is about the books I read in my reading group at school. We are studying Asia in school, so all of our stories are based in Asia. We have learned about China so far, and am now moving on to study Japan. I previously read When the Sea Turned To Silver, and am now reading The Heart of a Samurai. I hope you visit my blog regularly and comment on some of my posts.
